Whenever summer hits, I’m constantly craving ice cream and cold, sweet treats, and I know I’m not alone in this! This is a craving that dates wayyyy back to our childhood, and nostalgia was exactly what drove the interest in me making this recipe for you today.
When I was about five years old, I went on my first vacation to the islands with my family — Jamacia, I believe. These were such highlights in my childhood as my family vacations came to a stop around age 10 or so. On these trips, I LOVED the swim-up bars in the pools. Somehow, I created my own frozen, non-alcoholic drinks. Not sure if these were on the menu or if the staff was just really, really kind. Of course, you can’t go wrong with a strawberry daiquiri or pina colada, but I wanted a “Bahama Mama” as I called it. It was a creamy, cold, strawberry banana milkshake that I could drink right there at the pool – and while I’m sure it was filled with sugar, it was SO refreshing and beyond delicious!
Well, I nailed this recipe. I nailed a healthy, protein (collagen) version of it, and it wasn’t until my first taste that made me realize how vivid that childhood memory was, and how similar it tasted. Best part? It is SO EASY.
I knew I wanted to try making my own popsicles for a while, so I ordered THESE MOLDS on Amazon – because silicone is the easiest ever. Aside from that, all you need is bananas, strawberries, honey, canned coconut milk and Garden of Life Collagen. You’ll be immediately transported to a tropical paradise, with only natural sugar and 20g of protein! Collagen has seriously made such an amazing difference in my skin, joint, and hair health, too! This one is unflavored so it’s like the secret, powerful ingredient.
Don’t you love when things are healthy but don’t even taste like it? 😉 Scroll down for the recipe + pin it on pinterest to save for later! Enjoy, and happy summer!

Then stick popsicles sticks in. My mixture made about 7.5 popsicles but this is size-dependent based on your molds!
