I’ve been on an insane matcha kick lately, and quickly transitioned into a critical part of my daily morning routine. The line-up includes ice roll, green juice, and matcha!
Truly, now that I’ve mastered my own recipe, I don’t ever want to buy it out of the house! Don’t get me wrong, I’ll go to La Colombe any day of the week, but for matcha, well, I like it homemade more ;). I also feel a significant difference when drinking matcha instead of coffee. I feel a steady caffeinated buzz with no crash.
A few weeks ago, I posted a highlight to my Instagram to showcase how I make my everyday matcha. I wanted to expand upon that resource by posting it here, so it’s accessible whenever you want.
I also recently made the switch to using Soirèe tea’s ceremonial grade matcha from Japan. The brand built by a local Chicago native and female entrepreneur, and I love how she’s making this high quality, antioxidant filled tea more accessible. You can use BUNUNDONE for 20% off your order on their website!
I also love blending mine in my blender, mixed with hot water and some nut milk, especially with my Vitamix, since it has a heat setting. It gets extra frothy and makes it easy to measure the amounts too. A handheld frother makes for a super easy frothy and blending option too! My Vitamix is linked here and my tea kettle here.
I hope you love incorporating this into your routine as much as I have. Cheers!

So what’s the difference than drinking regular green tea? The difference is that you ingest the entire leaf, not just the brewed water. This means that if you drink 1 glas of matcha, you get the equivalent nutrients and health benefits of 10 glasses of brewed green tea. Matcha latte is basically just matcha powder dissolved in hot water topped with steamed milk of your choice. I prefer almond milk, but any other milk is fine. If you’re a sweet tooth like me then you can add a little honey or agave to round it up and make it taste even more heavenly.
