My name is Morgan Raphael, and I am a fitness and health enthusiast, marketing professional and self-care optimist. After graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Public Relations/Advertising, I moved to Chicago, completely on my own, knowing no one besides my boyfriend. I was surrounded by wellness as a child, with two parents in the medical field. However, growing into “adulthood” I truly understood what it was like to self-motivate for the sake of wellness, and I turned to bloggers and influencers for inspiration. For all of my respective interests (beauty, fitness, food, fashion), I quickly learned that many of these bloggers were very aspirational in nature, and not attainable.
I always enjoyed a good sweat sesh. Fitness was always there for me to wipe the emotional slate clean, or sometimes, detox from a boozy and brunch-y weekend, but I started to become frustrated with my progress. Females unfortunately deal with lots of bloating and lots of fluctuating. Every day I looked different. Some days I felt content and confident, and other days I just stared at old pictures from college spring break, six pack and all, which felt like it existed in a former life. In January 2017, I committed to setting my passions on fire and improving myself holistically. I signed up for Tone It Up, a regimented workout and nutrition program geared toward women with realistic goals, providing the tools for a satisfied tummy inside and toned outside. I saw not only a huge progress in my body physically, but also mentally. I felt more energized, confident and inspired to help others immediately.
Life is all about balance. One moment, you’ll be typing away at work, sporting a slicked back bun and the other, you’re spilling ingredients all over your kitchen, bun and shirt in a complete mess. We must all embrace our insecurities and imperfections, laugh, and “let our buns loose” without comparing ourselves to what we view everyday on social media. This blog is your tool kit, your haven, your relatable friend who has been there, done that, judged herself one day and admired herself the next. I am here to help inspire and instill confidence during your individual wellness journey, fitness, food and beauty included. Welcome to Bun Undone.
